This policy explains what happens with your information when you use Flagpie. Flagpie is operated by an individual (Tom), not a company. We've aimed to keep this readable rather than dense, while still covering the details that matter.
You don't need an account to play. If you don't sign up, we don't collect names, emails, or any personal information from playing the game itself.
Without an account, your stats (games played, win percentage, current streak, and average guesses) are stored locally in your own browser only, using a technology called local storage. This data never reaches us, and clearing your browser data or switching devices will reset it.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, under any circumstances. Where your information is shared with the service providers below, it's solely to operate Flagpie itself, never for their independent marketing purposes.
Running Flagpie involves a small number of third-party services, each handling a specific part of the site:
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data it processes on our behalf.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and roughly where from. This tool doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you individually across other websites.
Flagpie may display advertising, potentially including through third-party networks such as Google AdSense. Where such networks are used, they may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads that are more relevant to you, based on your visits to this and other websites. This section will be updated with more specific detail once advertising is fully active on the site.
Where Google-served ads are used, you can view or adjust how Google personalizes ads for you at Google Ads Settings.
Signing up is optional and free. If you sign up with an email and password, we store your email and a securely hashed version of your password, never the plain password itself. This allows your stats and streak to follow you across devices, and, where applicable, allows us to track your subscription status.
If you sign up with Google instead, Google shares your name and email with us for that purpose. We do not receive your Google password or any other access to your Google account.
You may optionally set a display name, shown next to your stats instead of your email address.
You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account page. This action cannot be undone.
If you have an active streak, your display name (or "Anonymous" if none is set) and streak number may appear on our public leaderboard. Your email address is never shown publicly.
Payments made on Flagpie, whether for lifetime access or a monthly subscription, are processed entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details ourselves.
Flagpie is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
If data protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply to you, you generally have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, which you can already exercise directly through your account settings, or by contacting us. We aim to handle these requests promptly and reasonably, though we note this policy is not intended as a substitute for formal legal advice on your specific rights.
If anything meaningful changes about how Flagpie handles data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
