About Flagpie

What is Flagpie?

Flagpie is a daily flag-guessing game built around one idea: instead of showing you the full flag straight away, it shows you a pie chart of its exact colour split (sometimes searched as a color split, or colour distribution), measured pixel by pixel from the real flag, and asks you to work out which country it belongs to.

There's a new country every day, five guesses, and a new hint unlocked with every miss, neighbouring countries, population, size, then continent. Get it in one and it's a "hole-in-one," miss all five and you'll see the answer.

Why a pie chart, not the flag itself?

Most flag games show you the flag and ask "do you recognise this?" Flagpie asks a different question entirely: "which countries even use these colours, and in these amounts?" A flag that's mostly red and white points somewhere very different to one that's green, gold and black, and that's before you've seen a single shape, star, or emblem. It turns flag knowledge into something closer to a genuine puzzle, rather than a straight memory test.

Flagpie: Draw

Alongside the daily pie chart game, Flagpie also has a second mode: Flagpie: Draw, where instead of guessing, you draw the day's flag yourself, entirely from memory, using a colour wheel and some simple drawing tools. It's scored on how close your colours are, how accurate the proportions are, and whether everything ended up in the right place. It's free for everyone, just like the main game.

What's free, and what isn't

The daily game will always be free to play, along with statistics, sharing your results with friends, and the public leaderboard. Subscribing (Monthly or Lifetime) unlocks the full Archive of every past day, some extra statistics, zero ads, and early access to new features and game modes as they're built. Lifetime access is only available to founding subscribers in the first few months after launch, after that it's gone for good.

About the creator

Hey, I'm Tom, otherwise known as GeoTom on socials. I've always had a deep love for geography and travel, and so in May 2026 I started my account playing geography puzzle and trivia games, quizzes, all sorts of stuff built around maps and flags.

I particularly love the daily geography sites where you get a different country and have to guess it. I knew that flag-based ones existed, but I felt like there was untapped potential, as all of them still remained rectangular! So in June 2026 I started building my own site, guessing flags based on their colour distribution alone, now known as Flagpie!

I'm a one-man team for now, so it's still a small, growing project, and I'll keep adding to it over time. If you've got ideas, feedback, or spot something broken, the contact page has a few ways to reach me :)

Thanks for playing!
